Quit Coal

FoE Sydney is working with coal communities across NSW for water and land justice, to stop the huge planned expansion of coal mining, burning and exporting in NSW.

Alongside Traditional Owners, coal communities and other groups, we organised Climate Camp '09, three inspiring days of workshops, sustainable living and grassroots direct action from October 9 -11th 2009; aimed at stopping the expansion of Australia’s oldest coal mine in Helensburgh, forty minutes south of Sydney.

Call out to create a Quit Coal collective in NSW

Quit Coal is a Melbourne-based collective affiliated with FoE Australia. The Quit Coal crew campaigns against expansion of the coal industry in Victoria. They believe this is important because building new coal infrastructure locks in decades of dirty, old technology, when we should be moving towards clean, renewable energy.
