Friends of the Earth (FoE) Sydney is a community-based collective working for social and environmental justice. There are a number of ways that you can get involved to suit your interests, time and skills:

1. Come along to FoE Sydney meetings and get involved in our campaigns

We are focusing on a campaign against dangerous offsetting projects and dodgy carbon trading schemes, and taking action for climate justice.

We meet every third Wednesday of the Mont at the Neighbourhood Centre in Newtown. We welcome new members, ideas, initiatives and projects. Please get in touch and come along.

2. Become a member of FoE Sydney

FoE Sydney is committed to grass-roots, democratic organising and believe an active membership is an essential part of this. We work with all of our members to foster mutual support, participation and activism.

3. Donate to FoE Sydney

Click here to donate to FoE Sydney [the page is part of the FoE Australia account through the GiveNow website]. Funds go to essential costs such as meeting room and venue hire, printing, and occasional staffing costs for campaign work.

4. Volunteer/Intern opportunities

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer official intern positions. But if you would like to become a collective member we can provide support for you learn and become confident in different roles involved in collective organising.

5. Start Your Own Project

One of the aims of Friends of the Earth (FoE) Sydney is to support people in self-organisation and community-based action for social and environmental justice. FoE Sydney recognises that we can't work on everything. That’s why we want to help others get started on their own projects. FoE Sydney isn’t interested in supporting only the work that is part of Friends of the Earth, but instead wants to see a vibrant, diverse, and kick-arse movement for social change. If you’re keen to get a project up and running and think that the big, warm, umbrella of FoE Sydney would help in some way then get in contact with us.

Download the Group Projects Policy document to get a better idea about what it all involves.
